Summer Office Hours!
Studies show that students who read over the summer have an
academic advantage over those who do not. In striving to create a
community of readers, the St. Landry Parish Schoolsâ summer reading
list consists of a variety of genres with a wide range of subjects in an
effort to provide some flexibility in reading choice. Our goal is to foster
a love for reading in all of our students. We do recommend, however,
that parents and students make book selections together and hope
that your summer reading experience is a positive and productive one.

Happy School Nurse's Day! This special day is dedicated to honoring the incredible school nurses who play a vital role in the health and well-being of students. School nurses are often the unsung heroes who provide care, support, and education, ensuring that students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Payment of $2500 (to be distributed in December 2025 and May 2026) as a sign on stipend for certified (Level 1 or above) core teachers (Math, Science, ELA, SS) for the 2025-2026 school year at Opelousas Junior High School and North Central High School.
