Our MACA JAG students were busy, upbeat, and ready to serve at Opelousas General as they helped distribute Paint the Town Pink shirts! They passed out shirts and drinks, kept the tables stocked, and made sure everyone was greeted with a smile. We’re proud of our students for giving their time and energy to support such a meaningful community event! 💗

Today, our MACA JAG students visited the Louisiana Equine Sales & Event Center! 🚌🐎 Students explored careers in the equine industry, learning firsthand from farriers 🧲, trainers 🐴, equine dentists 🦷, and more while enjoying hands-on experiences with the horses! 🤠🙌 What a great day of learning and career exploration! 🌟💙💛

🎓💙 Yesterday, our freshmen kicked off the school year by meeting their upperclassmen Mentors! Students got to know one another through icebreakers, games, and teamwork while adding their handprints and signatures to our Commitment to Graduate Mural. 🖐️🎨

Our MACA JAG students were engaged and learning during a workshop with Pelican State Credit Union! 🏦 Mr. John Womack taught students about checking and savings accounts and will return monthly to continue building their financial literacy skills. On Tuesday, September 23, 2026, the St. Landry School District will be providing Hearing and Vision Screenings. If you do not want your student to participate, please email your student's name, grade, and homeroom to maca@slpsb.org.
