Good evening! We are so excited about tomorrow’s Fun Day!!! Check out our school’s Facebook page for concession items and prices. It’s going to be a Monday Fun Day!!

Fun Day is fast approaching and we are SUPER excited! When: Monday, May 23 Time: Grades 3/4/5-9:00-11:00 Grades K/1/2-12:00-2:00 What: fun jumps (wet and dry), face painting, nail polishing, colored hair stray, fun day store, and concession An extra change of clothes and a towel are also recommended. Permission slips need to be turned in by Monday to ensure that your student is included in the fun. Fun day fee is $5. Concession items/Fun Day store items range from 50 cents to $2. Concession items will include: snow balls, hot dogs, nachos, water, Coke/Sprite, chips, ice cream and candy.

We still have spots available in 4th & 5th grades. Last day to register is this Friday. Camp Accelerate Info: Camp dates: June 6th - 30th Monday through Thursday. Car rider--> Drop off 7:45; Pick Up 2:40 NO STUDENT is to be on campus after 3:00. Camp Accelerate dress code: uniforms are optional. Clothing must be school appropriate (shorts must be an appropriate length). May 19th Pre-K graduation at 9:00-- tickets were sent home May 20th Kindergarten Ceremony at 9:00. May 23rd FUN DAY... $5 for free play... check folder for flyer May 24th Awards Day: 1st & 2nd @ 8:30; 3rd - 5th @ 10:15. Thank you to everyone who purchased Bar B Que dinners! Tickets went home yesterday (pink for pork and green for chicken.) Pick up is scheduled for Saturday from 10:30-12:30. Please use the gravel road on the side of the cafeteria for pick up. Someone will be outside to get your dinners to you. Makin Groceries Mobile Market will be on campus tomorrow from 9:30-11:30. Tomorrow is free dress day for 2 cans of dog food.

Good morning! Here are a few of this week's reminders: *Bar B Que dinner orders are due tomorrow. Pick up is Saturday between 10:30-12:30. *Makin Groceries Mobile Market will be here on Friday, May 13 from 9:30-11:30. Come shop with us! *Report cards will be mailed out on Friday, May 27. Please provide a self addressed stamped envelope (brown manila envelopes with 2 stamps work best.) *We still have available spots for 4 and 5 grades for Camp Accelerate. Call the office to register. *Friday, May 13-Free jean day (jeans, appropriate length jean shorts, shirts, hats and boots) for 2 cans of dog food. Your donations will help our local animal shelter.

The ice cream truck will be on campus tomorrow @ 12:30! Prices range from $1.50-$4.00. Dismissal reminders: The office is a very busy place in the afternoons. If you must check out your student, please do so before 2:30. Otherwise, please get in the car rider line. Do not call your student to the car or exit your vehicle. All students will be escorted to their vehicle by a staff member. The safety of our students is of upmost importance to us.

We have great news! Due to popular demand, we have extended our Bar B Que dinner sale until Wednesday, May 11, 2022! You still have time to get your orders in!! A special thank you to our latest SOLA donors: Deshawn Clark and Mrs. Lena Castille. Our grand total raised is 6,605!! Our school was also awarded an additional $1,000 in the small nonprofit category that raised the most money during early giving!! Thank you for your continued support!

Palmetto Elementary is OPEN today (May 6th). Only North Central students were sent home due to power outage. BBQ dinner orders are due today! If you want a BBQ dinner please call the office 337-623-4482. BBQ dinner pick up is Saturday, May 14th 10:00-12:00.

We are super excited about our Bar B Que dinner sale that is taking place on May 14, 2022! The weather will be perfect for a great plate of bar b que! Each diner is $12 and includes your choice of half chicken or pork steak with rice dressing, yam patty and a brownie! Pick up will be between 10:30 and 12:30. Bar B Que is to summer as Gumbo is to winter! Our caterer is asking for a count of dinners sold so that he may place his meat order. May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. "Each May, Better Hearing & Speech Month (BHSM) provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA members in providing life-altering treatment." We are proud of the work our Speech and Language Pathologist every day to help students. #slpproud

There is still time to donate if you haven't yet. The last day is Thursday, May 5, 2022. We are so super proud of all of our students during this difficult testing time. Third through fifth graders have really been working hard on their LEAP test. They are definitely taking their tests seriously! Our younger babies are doing a great job of being extremely quiet and respectful as not to disturb our testers!

This afternoon, Mrs. Tonya Pitcher's bus riders will go home on Ms. Kasey Kennedy's bus. If your child normally rides Mrs. Pitcher's bus, please expect them home later than usual today.
