Bring a bottle of water or a water bottle to fill at the filling stations.
Masks are required for ALL students, staff, and visitors. (Masks are required on the bus and on campus)
When arriving on campus visitors must check-in in the office.

When to keep your child home?!?
School guidelines for COVID protocol:
Your child should stay home if they are exhibiting 2 or more of the following symptoms:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath
Fatigue
Muscle/body aches
Loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea/vomiting
Diarrhea
Please report if your child has been in close contact (within 6 feet of someone for 15 minutes or more) who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Reminder that meet and greet is scheduled for today from 3-5. Remember to come by the office to pay school fees and take ID pictures.

The Pre-K schedule (unless things change due to COVID):
August 18 - orientation with parents (check letter for time)
August 19 & 20 - Home visits/no school (times will be scheduled during orientation)
August 23 - First full day for Pre-K students (buses will run)

Good evening Bronco families:
Palmetto Elementary will begin the first day of school on a hybrid schedule. Students who live in LeBeau and Morrow are Cohort A. Also on Cohort A are Melville students who have siblings at North Central. Cohort A will attend school on Wednesday, August 18 and stay home on Thursday, August 19.
Cohort A includes the following buses: Mr. Irving, Ms. Doucette, Ms. Payne, Mrs. Amy Barker, Mrs. Pitcher, and Ms. Sanders.
Students who live in Opelousas and Palmetto are Cohort B. Cohort B also includes Melville students who DO NOT have siblings at North Central. Cohort B will report to school on Thursday, August 19 and stay at home on Wednesday, August 18.
Cohort B includes the following buses: Mrs. Amy Barker, Mrs. Pitcher, Ms. Sanders, Ms. Thierry, Ms. Poole, Mrs. Haynes, Ms. Kennedy and Mrs. Hutchins.
All students will report to school on Friday, August 20, 2021. Please do not hesitate to call school if you have any questions.

Good afternoon Palmetto Elementary Parents,
In an effort to allow students to learn COVID-19 procedures and expectations, St. Landry Parish Schools will begin school using a staggered entrance. Our zone is staggering students by the community that they live in. Some students will attend school on Wednesday, August 18th and stay home on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Some students with will attend school on Thursday, August 19, 2021 and stay home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Final information about when your student will attend will be finalized by Monday.
All students will attend school on Friday, August 20, 2021.
Meet and Greet is scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2021 from 3-5.

A week from today, August 16th, is Meet & Greet from 3-5. Come out to meet our teachers, pay school fees, and take ID pictures. You can also purchase Palmetto Elementary water bottles ($10).
School supplies arrived today for those of you that purchased online.
Remember we are under a mask mandate, so please wear your masks at all times when visiting campus.

Want to learn about tools your child may be using in the upcoming school year? We are hosting 3 sessions on Google Classroom/Meet/Kami on Monday, August 9, 2021. This is a free online training for parents and guardians of any K-12 SLP student. meet.google.com/vdx-uzbe-dwo
